Biography

Born in 1945 in Kashgar, Ahmat Tursun began learning Twelve Muqam from his father at age eight. Over five decades, he has mastered all twelve suites and become one of the most respected Muqam performers in Xinjiang. He has trained over 200 students and participated in numerous national and international cultural exchange programs.
